Would You Rather Listen to the Lesson?

At the bottom of this lesson there are Guided Notes, a Slide Show, and a Sets Worksheet to help you out with this teaching Sets to your students.

## Set Notation:

It all starts with Set Notation. Students must master these symbols so that they can correctly analyze the problems they will be doing…

Students need to know that the study of mathematics builds on concepts. With that in mind, you are going to review the idea of sets to establish a firm base for the continuous study in Precalculus. These pre-lessons include…

• Defining Sets
• Set Notation
• Empty Sets
• Set Builder Notation

## Number Sets:

Most of the material will be familiar to students. They may know the N represents the set of Natural numbers and R represents the set of Real numbers. They may not know that Q represents the Rational numbers, Z the set of Integers, and C the set of Complex numbers that will be discussed later in the course.

YouTube is a great source of information when it comes to teaching Sets. It is a very visual topic. Here is a link to a video to help you supplement your lesson on sets.
